Charter Experience2026-08-05T17:06:37-06:00

One yacht. Two guides. One unforgettable week.

A Nautica Blu charter starts the moment you land in Ecuador and ends when you fly home. Here’s exactly what that week looks like, and what we add that no operator includes.

Start to finish

From your arrival in Ecuador to your flight home

1

We meet you in Ecuador

Your dedicated guide is waiting at the airport in Quito or Guayaquil, whichever you fly into. From that moment, you're looked after.

2

Optional mainland days

What those days actually look like: Quito, Papallacta, and the volcanoes.

3

Fly to the islands together

Your guide travels with you on the flight to the Galápagos. No meeting a stranger at the dock, no handovers.

4

The yacht is entirely yours

See the yachts we charter.

5

A week of guided exploration

Snorkel, walk, and kayak the islands with two senior naturalists leading every excursion, and your photographer capturing all of it.

6

We see you off

Your guide is with you to the airport for your flight home, with the photos and video of your trip already in your hands.

The Nautica Blu difference

What we add to every charter that operators don’t.

Book directly with any Galápagos operator and you get a vessel, a naturalist, and a set itinerary. We add the things that turn a charter into a private trip. All of this is included in every Nautica Blu booking.

A second senior naturalist

Hand-picked, on top of the operator’s licensed guide. Two senior naturalists for your group, all week, only for your people.

A dedicated photographer and videographer

Stills and video of your trip, delivered to your group. The operator doesn’t provide this. We do, on every charter.

Flights and transfers handled

Your Galápagos domestic flights and in-country coordination, arranged for you. One less thing to piece together yourself.

Pre and post-charter add-ons

Mainland days in Quito, the Papallacta hot springs, a volcano, or wherever else your group wants to extend the trip.

Room for the unexpected

Built-in contingency, so a small surprise during the week doesn’t turn into a charged-extra moment. It’s already covered.

End-to-end personal handling

An airport meet, named contacts you can reach, and real-time WhatsApp with us throughout the trip. A real person, the whole way.

What we can customize, and what we can’t.

Choosing the vessel is the real decision you make, and it’s the one that shapes the week. Our guide to choosing your yacht goes through it properly.

Set by the National Park

  • The exact islands each vessel visits
  • The order and timing of landings
  • The fixed departure dates per route

Yours to shape

  • Which vessel and which itinerary
  • The time of year you travel
  • Your mainland Ecuador days
  • The size and shape of your group

What it costs

A private Galápagos charter is a serious trip, priced like one.

What each vessel includes is set out on the fleet page.

The all-in price depends on the vessel, your dates, group size, and what you’d like to add at either end. Because we wrap every charter with a second senior naturalist, a photographer, your flights, and a contingency for the unexpected, we don’t publish per-vessel rates.

We’d rather have a short conversation, understand your trip, and come back with a clear all-in quote within 24 hours.

A few questions

Before you inquire

What exactly is included in a Nautica Blu chartered cruise?2026-06-16T10:39:20-06:00

Quite a lot more than most guests expect. Every charter includes return flights from Quito or Guayaquil to Baltra, so there are no hidden logistics to arrange on your own once you’ve confirmed your voyage.

From the moment you land, a dedicated Galápagos Naturalist Guide is with you — greeting you personally in Quito or Guayaquil and staying by your side for the entire duration. This isn’t a shared group guide; they are yours.

personal photographer and videographer travels with you throughout, documenting the experience so you can simply be present. By the end of the trip, you’ll have a professional record of everything you encountered.

All meals, all excursions listed in your itinerary, and full use of the vessel are covered. Optional activities such as scuba diving or artisanal fishing can be arranged at an additional cost, and we’re happy to talk through what makes sense for your group.

Is a private Galapagos charter right for families with children?2026-06-16T10:39:28-06:00

It genuinely is, and in many ways a private charter is the ideal way to bring children to the Galapagos. Because the vessel is yours alone, the pace is set by your family. There’s no pressure to keep up with strangers, and the naturalist guide can adapt the experience to be as engaging or as unhurried as the day calls for.

The wildlife encounters here are unlike anything children experience elsewhere in the world. Sea lions approach on their own terms, marine iguanas share the beach with you, and blue-footed boobies perform their courtship dance just inches from the trail. It tends to leave a lasting impression on young travelers.

Our vessels accommodate groups of up to 16 or 20 passengers, so larger family groups or multi-family arrangements have plenty of room to feel comfortable. If you’d like to talk through which vessel and itinerary would suit your family’s ages and interests, we’re very happy to arrange a call.

How far in advance should I book to secure the dates I want?2026-06-16T10:39:37-06:00

Our most candid advice: earlier than you think. Private charter availability in Galapagos is genuinely limited, the national park restricts vessel numbers, and the dates that suit most families and groups tend to overlap considerably. Our recommendation is to reserve your cruise at least 12 months in advance.

That said, we don’t believe in creating false urgency. If a date is available, we’ll tell you honestly. What we will say is that the guests who end up with exactly the voyage they envisioned are almost always the ones who started the conversation early. A brief call with us costs nothing, and we can tell you exactly what’s realistically available for your preferred window.

How many people can charter?2026-07-22T10:59:07-06:00

Most of our vessels hold up to 16 guests. Two take up to 20: Hermes, at the top of the fleet, and Infinity from Royal Galápagos.

Can we charter for fewer than 16 guests?2026-06-16T11:01:35-06:00

Yes. You’re hiring the whole vessel, not buying seats, so the charter price is the same whether you bring six guests or sixteen. Most of our groups are between eight and fourteen.

Can children come?2026-06-16T11:01:25-06:00

Absolutely. The Galápagos is one of the best family trips on the planet, and a private charter is built for multi-generational groups. We’ll help you match the vessel and the time of year to the ages traveling.

How far in advance do we need to book?2026-06-16T11:01:16-06:00

The best vessels and dates go early. For most charters we’d suggest starting the conversation 18 – 24 months out, though we can sometimes find space sooner. The earlier we talk, the more choice you have.

Can we arrive by private jet?2026-06-16T10:40:28-06:00

Yes, and many of our groups do. You can fly private into Quito or Guayaquil, or direct to Baltra in the islands. We handle the permits and clearances ahead of time, and your guide meets you right as you step off the plane. Tell us how you’re flying when you inquire and we’ll build everything around it.

Do you take payment in USD?2026-06-16T11:01:05-06:00

Yes. Nautica Blu is a US registered LLC with a US bank account and a US business address. You pay in dollars, to an American company. We operate in Ecuador; you transact at home.

Who is our naturalist guide?2026-06-16T10:40:47-06:00

Every charter includes the operator’s licensed naturalist plus a second, hand-picked senior naturalist who’s with your group all week. Two pairs of expert eyes, only for your people. We confirm exactly who’s leading your trip before you sail.

How is this different from an expedition cruise like Lindblad?2026-06-16T10:40:56-06:00

On an expedition cruise you share the ship and the guides with other passengers on a fixed group departure. With us, the whole yacht is yours, the guides are dedicated to your group, and the week is built around your family or friends. Same protected islands, seen privately.

What’s the cancellation policy?2026-06-16T10:41:07-06:00

It depends on the operator and how close you are to sailing, and we lay out the exact terms in writing before you commit to anything. In general, your deposit holds the boat and the balance is due 90 days before departure. We walk you through all of it on a call, so there are no surprises.

Let’s plan your Galápagos.

Tell us when you’d like to sail and who’s coming. We’ll come back within 24 hours with vessels, dates, and what we’d suggest.
