You’ll work directly with the people who own the company.

Nautica Blu was founded by Carly and Paco. Paco has spent his career as a naturalist guide in the Galápagos, including years on expedition voyages in the islands, and he knows the operators and their crews from inside the industry. Carly runs every charter personally, from the first email to the morning you fly home. You’re not booking through an agency that has never set foot on the vessel.

Co-founder

Carly Newman

Carly is the person you’ll deal with from your first question to your flight home. She’s Australian, with a marketing degree and a career that ran through Adelaide before she left to travel the world a decade ago. She came to the Galápagos, met Paco, and never left. She now lives on the islands with Paco and their two daughters.

She runs Nautica Blu day to day, and every inquiry comes to her personally. She’s the one who answers your email, gets on a call to understand what your group wants, lines up the right vessel and dates, and stays with the details all the way through to the morning you fly home. There’s no call center, and no handoff to an account manager you’ve never met.

That’s deliberate. A private charter is a big trip and a serious amount of money, and the people booking one want to know exactly who’s looking after it. With Nautica Blu, you always do.

Carly writes most of what’s in Field Notes, so if you’ve read something there, that was her.

Co-founder

Paco Flores

Paco is the reason most people find Nautica Blu. He was born and raised in Ecuador and has spent his career as a naturalist guide in the Galápagos, including years guiding expedition voyages in these waters. He knows the islands, the wildlife, and the way a good week on the water comes together better than almost anyone.

He co-founded Nautica Blu with Carly after years of the same conversation. Guests who’d sailed with him, fallen for the islands, and wanted to come back privately with their family or their closest friends. Nautica Blu is the answer to that. A way to bring people back to the Galápagos on their own terms, on their own boat.

Paco knows the operators we work with, and many of their crews, from inside the industry. That’s exactly why we feel comfortable putting your group on any vessel in our fleet. He helps shape every trip we plan.

Why you can book with confidence

A US company, paid in US dollars.

Here’s the honest version of the thing that gives most people pause. You’re about to send a serious sum of money to a company you’ve just met, in a foreign country, for a trip you haven’t taken yet. That’s a fair concern, and we’d rather meet it head-on than hope you don’t notice it.

Nautica Blu is a US registered LLC. You contract with a US business, pay into a US bank account, and everything is invoiced and handled in US dollars. We live and work in the Galápagos, which is what lets us look after you on the ground, but the business itself runs through the United States. You’re paying an American company, at home, in your own currency.

How we work

A few things we hold to.

We don't sell seats. We sell whole yachts.

Here's everything a charter includes.

We never book strangers together.

Your boat is your family or your friends, and only them. That's the whole point of a private charter.

We only work with operators we'd put our own family on.

Three hand-picked operators in the islands, and not one we have reservations about. If we wouldn't sail on it, we won't sell it.

We don't disappear after the deposit clears.

The people who plan your trip are with you through to the day you fly home. No handoffs, no going quiet.

In good company

The operators we charter.

All of them, side by side, on the fleet page.

We don’t own boats. We work with a small group of premium Galápagos operators we trust completely, and add our own people and handling on top of every charter.

Come talk to us.

The best way to know if Nautica Blu is right for your group is a short conversation. Tell us what you’re thinking and you’ll hear back from Carly, usually within 24 hours.
